The Ultimate Christmas Gift List for the Stylish Country Mama
I LOVE Christmas, I mean I REALLY LOVE it. I love the build up, I love the food, I love the excitement, I even love my youngest singing hymn after hymn for months like some over-zealous religious maniac.
I love shopping for presents for people too, the pondering over what to buy, the decisions, the wrapping…everything. But I know that some people don’t share my enthusiasm for the gift buying experience…some people (my husband included) really don’t find it fun at all.
So, if you have a stylish country Mama to buy for this Christmas, I have put together my ultimate wish list. Some of the things I own and adore, some are things I dream about owning (but hey, a girl’s gotta dream right). And husband, lovely husband…if you are stuck for ideas, take a snoop (it will save you that mad Christmas Eve dash to Tesco!).

The Ultimate Coat
This Joules Fieldcoat is the BEST thing I own by a country mile. I have owned many a coat in my time but this has to be my favourite. Amazing quality, perfect colours, great detailing and a fabulous fit. It also gets better with age (and there are not many things you can say that about). It isn’t the cheapest coat you will ever buy but it could just be the one you love the most!
I don’t personally own these Dubarry Boots but they are on my ultimate wish list. They scream country living, quality and are stylish too. Friends who have them have owned them for years and they still look fantastic, even when they have walked through field after muddy field. My kinda boots!
A Fabulous Bag
I have a bit of a bag ‘thing’. If I’m feeling down in the dumps, a bag can cheer me up. More expensive than chocolate admittedly but kinder on the waistline (particularly a nice low slung one like this Maya Leather Bag which I reckon could happily hide an extra mince pie or two)!
Yorkshire and Proud
I’m a Yorkshire girl at heart and we are known for our ‘long pockets, short arms’ but I would dig deep into my pockets to pay for this gorgeous ‘Made In Yorkshire’ Butterfly Tree Clutch – Made in Yorkshire. Perfect size for a night out and would look just perfect being plucked out of the Maya Bag!
But first – Coffee!
Our trusty Gaggia coffee maker has survived 13 years of hard graft since it appeared on our wedding list back in the day. We would do a straight swap if they made it anymore but, seeing as they don’t we are dreaming of this stylish Heston Duo Coffee Maker
Bring on the Gin
As a recent convert to the joys of gin, I am enjoying building my knowledge of this fabulous tipple! I really quite fancy this Edinburgh Gin Winter Palace Liquer & Cocktail Glasses Set – the fact that the box colour matches my front runner colour for our kitchen revamp has nothing to do with it appearing on this list – honest!
A kitchen Stand Mixer
You just need one – full stop. Since finding my vintage one a few months back my baking game has gone through the roof – try this Kenwood Stand Mixer for size and you will never look back. Quick, efficient, stylish and if it’s good enough for Nigella, it’s good enough for me!
Store that Cake
I have enough tupperware tubs to sink a ship (well actually I mostly only have the tubs but no lids) I want pretty cake storage and these amazing Orla Kiely Cake Storage Tins are spot on.
Hunter wellies are my favourite and these glossy and quite simple Amazing Hunter Wellies give me goosebumps (did you hear that husband??)
Make your Own Cider
We have two huge apple trees in the garden and we often end up using only a tiny quantity of them. I have a feeling that this cool Traditional Fruit and Apple Press ( 6 Litre ) might make the husband more interested in windfalls!
Dreaming of Summer Picnics
I’m not a winter girl at all and I’m already planning ahead for summer picnics and lazy days by the river. Make your picnic stylish with this Wicker Picnic Hamper
Extend the Party Season with a Fire Pit
We have had some cracking parties around the fire pit this summer. They are perfect for making summer parties roll into into the small hours but also mean you can have a bit of a bash outside on cold nights too. This one has an all-weather cover so ticks all the boxes Landmann Barrone Fire Pit
Put on Your Party Face
After my amazing makeover session at Sam Holloway Beauty Studio I have begun to invest in some fabulous makeup essentials. This is right up there on my wish list Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette
Grow Your Own Cut Flowers
A party isn’t a party without fab flowers. We grow a lot of our own and plan to take the growing up a notch this year. This awesome book is the ultimate bible on how to do it yourself The Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden: Grow, Harvest, and Arrange Stunning Seasonal Blooms
A Gorgeous Scarf
I have dozens of Scarfs and need to add this one to the collection. Mustard, great length and has a hare in the print. What’s not to love. Mustard Hare Print Scarf
An Amazing Recipe Book
I love to cook, for a few, for a crowd, for myself. You will never be short of something to cook with one of my favourite books Gatherings: recipes for feasts great and small
